Performance appraisal的表述应该如下：
Performance appraisal , makes use of risk, return, and attribution analyses to draw conclusions regarding the quality of a portfolio’s performance.

performance evaluation的三部分是有递进关系的。
第一步：performance measurement。你要评估业绩，总要先确定业绩是好是坏，因此这一步会选择合适的指标衡量收益和风险。
第二步：performance attribution。有了收益和风险的数据，我们就要确定它们的来源，因此这一步是对收益和风险来源的分析。
第三步：performance appraisal。相当于总结陈词，结合上两步的数据，对基金经理的业绩质量进行全面的分析并得出结论，判断业绩是运气还是实力。
