想要了解区别（settlement一定有现金流或者实物交割，valuation是对合约价值的估计）需要回到两个知识点的定义：
Settlement involves the payment of final amounts and/or delivery of securities or physical commodities between the counterparties based upon exchange rules.
结算：根据交易规则，交易对手之间会发生最终金额支付和（或者）证券、实物商品的交付。

Valuation of a derivative contract means determining the payoff of the contract to the long (or short) position at some time during the life of the contract.
衍生品合约的估值是指：在合约有效期内的某个时间，确定合约对long方（或short方）的回报。
